Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick.  Our daughter Emmalyn was born November 30, 2011 weighing a tiny 2 lbs 2 oz.  Emmalyn was brought into our world 12 1/2 weeks early & after spending 60 days in the NICU, we finally brought her home in January 2012! She is now a happy, healthy 15 month old, weighing almost 21 lbs! And we are honored to have been chosen as the Ambassador family for the Rockdale/Newton/Walton walk this year! The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

Funds raised in March for Babies support research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives. And they will be used to bring comfort and information to families with a baby in newborn intensive care.

Peppermint Patty- Vanilla cupcake with peppermint infuzed extract, with a chocolate filling and a white chocolate icing with peppermint pieces and a small candy cane on top
Snowflake- Vanilla Cupcake with a raspberry filling with a white Chocolate Icing and white chocolate shaving to look like snowflakes on top!
Grinch Cupcake – A chocolate cupcake, with strawberry filling (like his heart) and a green Vanilla Icing with a heart candy on top
A Kiss Under the Mistletoe-white cake with peppermint flavored icing as filling and green and white buttercream frosting (to look like mistletoe leaves and berries)
Candy Cane cupcake- it is a vanilla cupcake with crushed peppermint in the batter, with a light peppermint frosting garnished with a candy cane or a peppermint.
Don’t Eat the Yellow Snow- which is an angle food cupcake with a lemon glaze filling, marshmallow frosting and a dot of lemon glaze on top.
Tart Temptation- This is a vanilla cupcake with a blueberry frosting and a pomegranate filling.
Honey Cinnamon Swirl- a white cake with a honey cinnamon swirl, a light honey cream filling and a honey cinnamon buttercream frosting.

It was so much fun to see these beautiful pictures, as we almost never get to see our creations come to full light!  And we recently heard the shoot was such a success that it’s to be featured in Style me Pretty!

It’s almost wrong that we have so much fun doing what we do well! 

In addition we want everyone to know that we were commissioned by a client to make this cake, it was not our idea, nor does it represent how we feel about Uga or the University of Georgia. If I had a dollar for every cake we’ve done that I hated the concept, thought it was distasteful, tacky or ugly I’d be retired by now.  Quite honestly we’ve made way more offensive cakes than this and didn’t even think twice, until Sunday morning that is!

Whether it’s in good taste or not I can’t say as I have a pretty warped sense of humor. I can say that the happy couple is not suggesting that someone should go out and run over Uga, the cake was made in good fun, and embodies everything that is fun with College Football Rivalries. And as you can plainly see if you take a second to Google “Uga road kill” you all rise to the occasion.

That being said, we do think it was funny, as it was intended to be, and a pretty awesome cake! We love UGA, and the fans and we’re ready to mutilate Buzz, I’ve got a ton of ideas so let’s bring it!!!!

We’ve spent the last few days wondering if we should admit that we made this cake. Why, because people have gotten so bent out of shape over what was intended to be a joke.  I find it more appalling that it’s being suggested that people should boycott our bakery, and that we hate animals and UGA because we did our job.  Bottom line we made a cake for a client, and it was pretty awesome cake, we’re proud of our work, not the message it implies.   I also figured it’s going to come out eventually and I’d rather say we did it and take the lickin than hide like a coward.

So I’m assuming we’ll receive a ton of hate mail for admitting we created a horrific cake and we should burn, maybe we’ll have PETA or SPCA picketers, or a rock thrown through our front window, maybe our children shall be born with horns and tails.   I sincerely hope not, I hope that better part of what makes College Rivalry fun is that we keep it to comments, t-shirts and on the field, and hopefully a Squashed Buzz cake as retaliation!
